Dual Diagnosis Treatment Centers in Massachusetts
At Refresh Recovery Center, you’ll experience tailored care for addiction and mental health conditions. As a trusted dual diagnosis facility in Massachusetts, our programs involve evidence-based support to manage both disorders and help you reclaim your life.
What Is Dual Diagnosis?
Dual diagnosis refers to two or more mental health or substance use conditions happening at the same time. Also known as co-occurring disorders, this requires multi-level treatment.
In 2023, about 7.9% of American adults faced both challenges. But nearly 38% people didn’t get the help they needed. When you treat both problems together, the results are much more favorable than treating them separately.
Common Co-Occurring Disorders
- Depression
- Bipolar disorder
- Eating disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- PTSD and trauma-related issues
- OCD and other anxiety conditions
- Personality and mood disorders

What makes dual diagnosis treatment different?

How long do people stay in dual diagnosis programs?
Most programs last several weeks. However, the exact length depends on your progress, symptoms, and insurance coverage.
Can I keep working while in treatment?
Yes, with our Half-Day Treatment Program, you have the flexibility to maintain other commitments like work. Our Day Treatment may require time off as sessions typically run during work hours.
Do you treat depression and anxiety with addiction?
Yes. Depression and anxiety are among the most common conditions we treat alongside substance use disorders.
Are medications available for mental health or cravings?
Yes, our licensed providers can prescribe appropriate medications. This can help manage symptoms, improve stability, and support your recovery.
What happens after treatment ends?
You’ll receive an aftercare plan with outpatient therapy. Ongoing support like this includes access to alumni programs and groups for long-term recovery.
